Music In Our Schools

Carolyn Pratt leads students in a lively discussion about the components of an opera performance.
Thursday Musical's Music In Our Schools program brings Thursday Musical artists into the classroom to present exciting musical and educational experiences.  Wind and string quartets demonstrate instrumental ensembles, and singers give an introduction to opera.

Programs are provided to schools without cost.  Funding is provided through the generous donations of Thursday Musical members, the Cy and Paula DeCosse Fund of the Minneapolis Foundation, and the Twin Cities Opera Guild.

The Northern Lights Strings Quartet introduces students to the stringed instruments of the orchestra
Thursday Musical  also collaborates with the Young Peoples Symphony Concert Association (YPSCA). Our artists visit area schools to demonstrate and familiarize the students with orchestral instruments and the music they will hear prior to their attending Minnesota
Orchestra concerts.
