Thursday Musical Young Artist Program
For over 100 years, Thursday Musical has provided musical inspiration and education for students. We encourage developing musicians by sponsoring the Young Artist Program for students at the junior high, senior high and college level who study music privately. Students are offered a recital performance on the Afternoon Recital Series and an opportunity to compete for scholarships in the Young Artist Competition. Winners are recognized with monetary awards and featured concert performances. Thursday Musical awards as much as $20,000 each year in total scholarships.

Young Artist Program Membership
Membership in the Thursday Musical Young Artist Program brings the following benefits:
- Performance on a Young Artist Afternoon Recital Series Concert
- Participation in the Young Artist Scholarship Competition
(open only to members) - Admission to all Thursday Musical concerts and events
The membership fee is $40 before November 15th, 2011. Junior High and High School Students should join by this date to ensure a performance on an Afternoon Recital Series concert (a prerequisite for competition). College competitors need not schedule a performance; however, it is encouraged as beneficial in the competition preparation process.
After November 15, 2011 the membership fee is $50.
After November 15, you will be sent a membership packet with detailed information on the recitals and competition, and application forms for both. All forms will also be available here on this webpage, but will only be accepted from current Young Artist Program members. Please check back for updated information as the season progresses!
The final deadline for competition enrollment is February 1, 2012.
